Overview


The Safety Specialist is responsible for preventing workplace accidents and promoting health and safety awareness across the organization. This role ensures compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, local, and industry-specific safety regulations while supporting continuous improvement in safety performance within a manufacturing environment.

 

The Safety Specialist partners with management and employees to implement safety programs, conduct audits, deliver training, and drive proactive accident prevention initiatives. This individual plays a key role in identifying hazards, reducing risk, and fostering a culture of safety.

Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management or a related field or equivalent demonstrated safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Professional certification preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations
  • Experience with safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis
  • Effective communication and training skills
  • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and support multiple shifts
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime as needed
  • Regular attendance is required

Work Environment

  • Exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, equipment, and industrial processes
  • Frequent interaction with employees and supervisors on the plant floor
